Arch Glenn Hunter
Arch Glenn Hunter, 84, of Elkview, went home to be with the Lord on December 19, 2016, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. He passed peacefully after a long illness.
Glenn was the eldest son of the late Archibald and Zella Pittman Hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David Hunter, John Hunter, and Carl Hunter.
He loved his family and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Regina Hunter; children, Arch Glenn "Slick" Hunter, Jr. (Lynn), William Steven Hunter (Robin) and Sandra Suzanne Mossberg (Chris); grandchildren, Mark Gregory, Steven, Katye, Courtney, Nick and Zak; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Stanley Hunter, Ronnie Hunter, Joe Hunter and Mark Hunter; and sister, Edna Neal.
Glenn was a co-founding member of Bible Christian Chapel in Pinch. He lived by his faith daily, always believing and trusting in God. An Army veteran, he retired from Libby Owens Ford Glass Company with 30 years of service. His passion for the outdoors included his farm in Reedy and hunting. Many wonderful hours were spent with family and friends deer and coon hunting, and fox chasing - especially with his brother, Ronnie.
Service will be 1:00 pm Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at the Hafer Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016 at the funeral home.
