Mary J. Hafer Mary J. Hafer is a native of Charleston, West Virginia, Kanawha County. She is a graduate of Elkview High School. She is a retired Postmaster with the United States Postal Service. She is a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, in Pinch and a volunteer of the Ladies Auxiliary with CAMC Hospitals. She is the widow of the Late John Edward (Ed) Hafer, Jr. and is half owner of the Hafer Funeral Home, Inc.

John Hafer Thaxton John Hafer Thaxton is a native of Elkview, West Virginia, Kanawha County. He is a 1989 graduate of Herbert Hoover High School and attended West Virginia State College. He is a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1994. He is a member and usher at Elkview Baptist Church,also a member of the Local, State and National Funeral Director's Association's. He began employment at the Hafer Funeral Home, September 1989 and began his apprenticeship in January 1992. He started Mortuary School in January 1993. He is now the Licensed Embalmer, Funeral Director, and Manager of the Funeral Home. He is the grandson of the late John Edward (Ed) Hafer, Jr. and nephew of the late Henry Beaugard Hafer. He is married to Tina R. Perry of Pinch, and has three kids, John Hafer (JT) Thaxton, II, Joel David Thaxton, and Amy Grace Thaxton.
