John H. Medley, 87, of Elkview went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2015 at Oakridge Center, Charleston after a short illness. He was born March 3, 1928 the son of the late Elmer L. and Elva Donohoe Medley. He lived at home with his parents and worked diligently on the farm, was loved by many in the community, and was known as deacon of Frame Advent Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Betty J. Medley Lollar; brothers Robert J., Edward L. and Mack Medley. John is survived by his brother George J. Medley of Charleston; sister-in-law Joan Medley of Elkview; nephews and nieces Tim, Bill, Bonnie, Teresa, Denise, Kathy, Bobbie, Karen and their families.
The family would like to send their special appreciation to the Oakridge Center and Hospice for their outstanding care and consideration for John and especially to John's in-home caregiver Beverly Waychoff.
A service honoring John's life will be held at 11am Thursday, June 4th at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service.
Burial will held in Medley Cemetery, in Frame.
