Ted G. Pennington
Ted G. Pennington 86, of Big Chimney entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, May 21, 2015, to join his beloved wife Roxalene, (Nockie) Pennington and brother Frank Pennington.
Ted was a lifelong member and a 60 year Deacon of Big Chimney Baptist Church. He retired from Western Southern Life Insurance Company and Union Carbide. He served our country proudly and retired from the United States Navy with 30 years of service.
Dad established our Christian Heritage and was world's greatest Gospel Music fan. His greatest joy was attending Gospel sings with Ruth. Dad has joined Heaven's Choir and is singing praises to his Savior Jesus Christ, in Glory forevermore.
He is survived by sons, Steve (Cindy) Pennington of Big Chimney and Mike (Tammy) Pennington of St. Augustine, FL.; grandchildren were his cherished pride and joy Sherri Pennington of Barboursville, Lance (Lesley) Pennington of Barboursville, Michele (Alex) Aiken of St. Augustine, FL, Ryan Pennington of St. Augustine, FL.; and great grandson Greyson.
Ted will be greatly missed by his loving friends, Ruth Skiles and Rusty Collison, Bill " Robbie" Robinson and many Gospel singing groups.
In honor of Ted there will be a celebration Gospel Jubliee Sing with his favorite gospel groups at 3:00 PM on Sunday May 24, 2015 at Big Chimney Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Forwood and Rev. Ray Williams officiating. Entombment will be at Elk Hills Memorial Mausoleum, following the service. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015, 6-8 PM at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel.
