Delbert Luther Bowles Sr. 78, of Charleston passed away April 22, 2015 at his residence.
He loved watching TV, especially racing and boxing; he loved his dog Prince, but most of all he loved taking care of his family. He worked for the City of Charleston until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his son, Delbert Luther Bowles, Jr. parents Otis William and Maciel Charlotte Bowles; brothers Otis Bowles, Jr. and Robert Bowles; sisters Margaret Stover and Ruby Burdette.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Naomi Ruth Rucker Bowles; son Larry Allen Bowles; daughter Susan Diane Kiser; brothers Claude, Charles and Eugene Bowles; sisters Josephine Lucas and Brenda Sue Butcher; grandchildren Melissa Bowles, Tiffani Bossie and Christina Hudson; and 4 grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rodney Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Visitation will be from 11 to 1 pm Saturday, April 25, 2015, prior to service at the funeral home.
